Kara Landell

Kara joined the therapist team at Cary Vision Therapy in 2025 after previously working at the front desk of our sister practice, Cary Family Eye Care. She holds a degree in Elementary Education from UNCW and spent four years teaching in Florida before moving into eye care. In 2024, she and her husband traveled the country in their van and lived in Alaska, where she worked as a tour director. Kara brings a spirit of curiosity, adaptability, and a genuine love for helping others see and experience the world more clearly. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, hiking, cooking, crafting, and spending time with family.

Vision & Learning

Amblyopia

Amblyopia occurs when the eyes and the brain are not working together properly causing one eye to not see as well as the other eye.

Strabismus

Strabismus is defined as a misalignment of the eyes. The most common types of Strabismus are Esotropia, where the eye turns inward towards the nose, and Exotropia, where the eye turns outward towards the ear.
